I'm super super super confused :(?

First of all I have a lot of respect for you for not going after a guy with a girlfriend! If he breaks up with her for you then consider it but it sounds like you are realising you have wasted too much time on him lately! With James if he was tipsy when he asked you to prom then he probably didn't really mean to say it...try simple conversation starters like "good trip wasn't it?" or "weird to be back in school/home isn't it?" maybe comment on how you miss the good French weather etc! Basically talk about stuff related to the trip which will remind him what a great night he had with you ;)
