What does it mean when a guy tells you this after a he breaks up with his girlfriend?

i think what fred is trying to say is when you said your liked tom, and then fred looked at his relateship, and saw that there was no "Spark" between him and his girl. like you aand tom have. fred wanted something new and exciting...like tom. but fred never realized this till you said something about tom, cause he was just relaxing in his relateship....didnt really see it. and i wouldnt feel bad you didnt do anything, its fred who changed his feelings for her. and he didnt lose interest in one night...those feelings havent been there for a while fred just didnt put 2 and 2 together till you woke him up and said something.
